Probatum seu confirmatum, die 25 septembris 1995, Prot. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,Ĭongregatio de Cultu Divino et Disciplina Sacramentorum. Grant that we, following her example, may fully trust your mercy and diligently practise works of Christian charity. You chose Saint Faustina to proclaim the endless riches of your mercy, Listen to the petitions of your servant and of your people.įorgive your people who have sinned against you. You Yourself have told me to speak about this great mercy and about Your goodness. I know and understand that this is my task, here and in eternity. O Eternal God, an unquenchable fire of supplication for Your mercy burns within me. I want the fragrance of my sacrifice to be known to You alone.

I want to become a sacrificial host before You, but an ordinary wafer to people. Jesus, transform me, miserable and sinful as I am, into Your own self (for You can do all things), and give me to Your Eternal Father.

Make of me, Jesus, a pure and agreeable offering before the Face of Your Father. O my Creator and Lord, I feel that I am going to remove the veil of heaven so that earth will not doubt Your goodness. O God, how I desire that souls come to know You and to see that You have created them because of Your unfathomable love. God loves us in His Son the painful Passion of the Son of God constantly turns aside the wrath of God. My sacrifice is nothing in itself, but when I join it to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, it becomes all-powerful and has the power to appease divine wrath. God will refuse me nothing when I entreat Him with the voice of his son. I unite myself closely with Jesus and stand before Him as an atoning sacrifice on behalf of the world. It is my constant endeavor to plead for mercy for the world. O my God, I am conscious of my mission in the Holy Church.

The Mission of Proclaiming and Begging Divine Mercy for the World Pope John Paul II beatified her in Rome in 1993, and canonised her in 2000. The diary of her soul is said to be one of the most influential works of mystical literature. Her mission consisted in reminding the world of the truth of merciful love of God, as well as establishing new forms of the cult of the Divine Mercy, initialising the religious renewal of this devotion. Her spiritual life was extremely rich and full of mystical gifts. In the convent she zealously fulfilled the duties of a cook, gardener and gatekeeper. After a few years of serving rich families she joined the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy. Sister Faustina (Helena Kowalska) was born on 25 August 1905 in Głogowiec near Łódź in a large family of peasants.
